International Day of Persons with Disabilities
December 3 was the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, observed by the United Nations (UN) since 1992. The Harper Grey Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee commemorated this day by sharing educational resources focusing on the fact that not all disabilities are visual. Disabilities come in all shapes and sizes – just because they may not be visible, doesn’t mean they are not incredibly impactful to that person’s life.
The Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee encouraged our firm members to reflect on how they participate in making the workplace a more inclusive space. They also shared a link to the International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPD) fund where you can donate to help remove visible and invisible barriers for people with disabilities.
