National Indigenous History Month

On June 19, as part of our recognition of National Indigenous History Month, the firm gathered to learn about Métis people, their culture, and enjoy traditional and modern performances by V’ni Dansi’s Métis Jiggers and Fiddlers. Dancers Lyric Tsuji and André Bessette artfully taught us the meaning behind each outfit and dance while weaving in stories of the Métis people. Musicians, Kathleen Nisbet and Steve Charles, played modern and traditional dance tunes – bringing the room alive with music. Everyone in attendance was in awe of the high energy presentation.

The firm also enjoyed Métis Bannock from The Bannock Queen and a display of Indigenous art, including Métis and Dene beadwork, ribbon skirts, and reading materials.

Thank you to our Diversity Inclusion and Belonging Committee for hosting this event!
