September 29, 2021

We are pleased to announce that Kim Jakeman, partner with Harper Grey and co-founder of Life in Law, has been awarded a 2021 Stronger Together Women in Law Leadership Award.

The Stronger Together Award recognizes and applauds Kim’s outstanding dedication, creativity, initiative, achievement and contribution to our community.  In particular, it celebrates how she has demonstrated extraordinary leadership in causes which have positively impacted our community; how she has developed and promoted initiatives that contribute to the well-being and betterment of our community; and how she has blazed a trail in the areas of legal education/scholarship; equity, diversity and inclusion; and service through Pro Bono initiatives and service to other community organizations.

“In her many years of practice, Kim has demonstrated a deep and abiding dedication to the practice of law with a focus on addressing diversity and equality within the legal profession and expanding possibilities for women in law.  She is a passionate leader, innovator, mentor, teacher, role model, volunteer, and champion of women in the legal profession”, says Jonathan Meadows, Managing Partner of Harper Grey.  “When she proposed her vision for Life in Law we were excited to support her in making that vision a reality and are delighted to see it flourish and make a difference.  Both the legal profession and the greater community have benefited from her passion, commitment and unwavering belief in equality. She is indeed a trail blazer and deserving of this recognition.  We are so proud of her.”

The WILL Awards were co-founded in 2011 by The Counsel Network and the Association of Women Lawyers and are presented annually to women lawyers in each province and territory.  You can learn more about the Awards here.

Please join us in congratulating Kim Jakeman on this deserving recognition and in saluting the other exceptional Canadian women in the legal profession who were also recognized.
