In concert with our Dress for Success clothing drive in support of International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, on November 27, 2018 we took part in #GivingShoesDay 2018. Dress for Success launched this day in 2010 in support of Giving Tuesday, which is a global movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year after Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

For Dress for Success, #GivingShoesDay isn’t just a day about giving shoes. They’re not just asking women to clean out their closets – it’s deeper than that. It’s about understanding the impact that even a single pair of shoes can have on a life. They’re asking women to visualize another woman walking in her shoes and taking her first step to a better future. It’s not just a donation; it’s a new opportunity for someone in need. It’s confidence for a first job interview. It’s a step closer to a new life.

We were delighted to be able to amplify their message to reach new audiences and to contribute more than 56 pairs of shoes to help women in need put their best foot forward.
