Daniel Reid to co-present the online CLE course “The TekSavvy Case: Disclosure Of Identifying Information By ISPs”

Daniel Reid and Gavin Cameron of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP will review the recent decision in Voltage Pictures LLC v Does which addressed a number of issues concerning disclosure of identifying information by Internet service providers. While the decision concerned a claim for copyright infringement, the principles underlying disclosure of private information and the procedure adopted by the court are equally applicable to claims in copyright, defamation, breach of privacy, or any other type of claim where a litigant is seeking personal information about a potential defendant from a third party.

CLE-TV courses are typically offered at lunch time, are delivered with live video streaming and usually last about an hour. They adopt an interview format, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions of the presenters through text chat.
