Bryan Baynham, QC interviewed by The Province and other media outlets

Harper Grey LLP lawyers, Bryan Baynham, Q.C. and Dan Reid, commenced a claim for breach of privacy and defamation against Grant Wakefield and Cameron Ward. The claim against Grant Wakefield is for breach of privacy and defamation with respect to an egregious breach of Cpl. Jim Brown’s privacy and broad dissemination of defamatory statements to Cameron Ward, the Vancouver Province and other media outlets.

In the lead story on the CTV news on November 1, 2012, Mr. Baynham described the claim against Grant Wakefield as “the biggest breach of privacy lawsuit in Canada”.

The claim against Cameron Ward is for defamation, flowing from his republishing of Grant Wakefield’s false and defamatory statements and postings on his blog, where he amplified and expanded on the false and malicious personal attack on Cpl. Brown’s integrity by tying him to Canada’s most notorious serial killer, Willy Pickton.
